Zach Toothman
Lake Erie Swimming
Hello CENTRAL ZONE! Most of you know me but for those of you who don't know my name is Zach Toothman and I’m from the Lake Erie LSC and I’m a sophomore at CWRU. Swimming has been a lifelong passion of mine since I was a child. My love for the sport inspired me to become a Lake Erie athlete representative. It’s allowed me to highlight my leadership and communication strengths while introducing new ideas. I've been able to push our athlete's committee to new heights by motivating the athletes to become interested and involved. As their voice, I spearheaded the reorganization of the entire athlete committee, wrote LE's first athlete manual, revitalized our social media, and led a task force this summer for a new athlete website for LE. These accomplishments fueled me to coordinate and lead LE's first LSC wide service project, and create innovative events for our championships: hot heats at JOs, mystery IM at senior championships, and advocating for recognition of 50 stroke records for 13&over athletes. These last 2 years, I've had the opportunity to serve as CZ Junior Representative. I've been able to work alongside Annie to improve and enhance communication with the CZ athlete reps, be their voice at meetings, and deliver interactive and entertaining athlete socials and events. Whether it's speaking at Zone Directors Council meetings, creating check-ins with LSC reps to strengthen their athletes’ committees, or facilitating the first central zone leadership summit this spring, everything I do is to help and support the CZ. Especially in the last year, being able to coordinate the first in person central zone summit and design curriculum for the CZ athletes really showcased my passion and drive for the Central Zone. I want to continue to be that voice as the Senior Athlete Director taking what I have learned in my Junior Athlete Rep role in the last two years so I can continue making a splash for the Central Zone! |
