Savannah Gurley
Michigan Swimming
My name is Savannah Gurley and I am the Senior Athlete Representative for Michigan Swimming. I swam for 13 years and am currently a freshman at Seton Hall University studying Diplomacy and International Relations. I have been involved in LSC Governance since 2017 and attended my first USAS Convention in 2018. In my time as an athlete representative I have held multiple positions in my LSC and learned countless different skills and lessons from the many athletes and nonathletes I have had the opportunity of working with. In my time as Junior and Senior Rep of Michigan Swimming, I helped to lead our Athletes Committee in new ways, providing easier and more frequent forms of communication, leading the planning and execution of our first Leadership Summit, as well as an additional Workshop we will be hosting in the fall. Recently, we have also published our first athlete newsletter and have begun to discuss new awards to recognize our athletes at our annual HOD. As the Central Zone Junior Representative, I hope to follow the examples set by Zach and Annie and continue to do what I love, which is serve the athletes I represent. I believe my experience, both within my LSC and at the national level, can bring new ideas and initiatives to the Central Zone to ensure the best possible environment for our athletes and to share the love for our sport with every single athlete it includes. |
