Oklahoma Swimming
Throughout the past two years as an AEC member and four years as a national committee member, I have been committed to giving a voice to all athletes at the national level and to developing educational and leadership opportunities for Athlete Representatives. As a member of the Rules & Regulations National Committee, I have educated athletes on proposed legislation at athletes’ meetings and workshops and advocated for athletes throughout the legislative review process. I hope to continue this work in an additional term on the AEC, with the goal of making legislation and policy more accessible to LSC Athlete Representatives and to give all Athlete Representatives opportunities to voice their opinions about proposed legislation. Additionally, as a member of the Programming & Events Subcommittee of the AEC, I have been involved in creating presentations and content for USA Swimming workshops and ABM. In a second term, I hope to develop engaging and informative content and resources that athletes can bring back to their LSCs. My most recent project on the AEC was redesigning the election process for AEC members as a result of changes to the composition of the USA Swimming House of Delegates. My experience and interests align with the purpose of the AEC to educate and provide opportunities to athletes, making me a qualified candidate for the committee, and I hope to continue my involvement with the AEC to improve the experiences of all Athlete Representatives. |
