North Carolina Swimming
Swimming has been one of my most powerful experiences. Perseverance, mental fortitude, discipline, and commitment are just a few of the qualities this sport has taught me, as well as countless others. I want to be part of this committee to ensure that this sport continues to provide a space for athletes to develop as swimmers, and as people. I feel that my three years of service to NCS, along with my national committee position, have given me the experience I need to be an effective committee member. During this time: I helped to grow the NC athlete committee from a handful of people to over 100, I organized a project to help local clubs recruit swimmers from summer league swimming, and I helped overhaul the CRP, bringing in consultants to help with the fine details. However, this experience alone is not enough; without a passion for the work a representative can not be truly effective. I have that passion. Passion enough to speak up in any discussion to provide my perspective. Passion enough to peruse bylaws, meet with LSC reps, and do anything else necessary to help this committee function as it should. After so long in the representative system, I feel that this is the next step in one of the most rewarding journeys of my life. I want to continue the phenomenal work of this committee, and to ensure that our athletes have a committed, unbiased, dedicated voice in our sport’s highest levels for years to come. |
